Yahzi – Navajo for “little one”. This mosaic rug is constructed with cut stained glass on a molded building panel and set upon a flat building panel. The rug is 10″ x 16″ and the background is 16″ x 20″. I molded the rug substrate to “hang” and used a scrap piece of reclaimed lumber for the effect. I added some beaded tassels to complete the realism of a rug. I have recently become a fan of the Navajo art of rug weaving and this is my tribute to those wonderful craftsman!
