A Bit About Me

Greetings and Welcome to my webpage!  I’m glad you stopped by. I am Elizabeth and I find that I’ve become a mosaic artist.  This beautiful journey began for me in May, 2016, after retiring from a stressful career in finance.  I really tripped and fell into this magical world of mosaic when looking to do a DIY upcycle of an old table of ours.  I can honestly say I didn’t really even know what mosaic was (pathetic for sure), but this table needed something special.  I found it right then – my joy, my sanity saver, my passion!  I loved the tactile part of the process, and the never ending learning of substrates, adhesives, glass, methods, etc. What took me a while to do, was to “let go” of the “rule” part of my brain from being in finance.  Being artistic has taken me a while to get used to.  That part of this process has been a blessing for me.  Letting go of the “rules” and letting things just flow has been so healing for me.

I am an outdoor girl, so I have taken to picking up treasures I find out on my hikes and incorporating them into my mosaics when possible.  I have so many ideas in my head; I truly believe I won’t have enough time in my life to create them all!  A really great problem to have.  I have so enjoyed meeting other artists in my line of “work”.  We all have something so special in common.  The sheer pleasure of making something beautiful out of scraps.  Sounds like life to me!
